What We've Achieved
In 2012 we started by sponsoring 22 children and providing them with supplies and uniforms.
In 2024 RIEcuador became a registered, tax-exempt, charitable organization established in Ecuador.
By 2016, we had increased our sponsorship to 30 children. Our goal in 2019 is to increase our sponsorship to 40 children.
To date, we have re-enrolled 30 children in school, after they had dropped out. Some had been out of school for more than a year, and many believed they needed to abandon their education altogether.
In date, eight of the program’s participants, children who had dropped out of primary school and then re-enrolled with our help, graduated high school. They became the first person in their family to read and write, and the first to complete their high-school education.
Beyond schooling, we have provided children with invaluable lifetime experiences by organizing trips to educational places. Thanks to our donors, the children who participate in RIEcuador visited, for the first time in their lives, the provincial capital city of Cuenca, the zoo, the cathedral, and even the water park.
Our donors’ generosity and our work has inspired young volunteers to work with us and help raise funds for our cause. Some of these volunteers have traveled to Ecuador to meet the children and many help us each year with events in Ecuador.
